Art Fair on the Square

For 2 days in July, the mid-west American town of Madison celebrates all forms of art during a huge outdoor festival that attracts 200,000 visitors annually. Art Fair On The Square is presented by Madison Museum of Contemporary Arts and has been running for more than 60 years. Like other massive outdoor fairs like Ann Arbor Art Fair, hundred of booths are lined on the streets, showcasing and selling a wide range of artworks from more than 500 artists. Large scale paintings, black & white photographs, terracotta sculptures, colourful potteries, nice jewels… there are items to meet all tastes and budgets. At Art Fair on the Square, there isn’t any fee admission to make the event accessible to the greatest number of people. Alonside the exhibition itself, attendee can enjoy a exciting program of art performances and music. A not-to-be-missed cheerful event that makes Capitol Square, in the heart of the town, uzzes with art.
