Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam
To brighten autumn in Amsterdam, there’s nothing like attending Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam in the Kromhouthal, an industrial location of over 5,000 meters square, at the end of October. After London, Amsterdam was the second European capital to host an Affordable Art Fair. The Amsterdam edition showcases contemporary art galleries exhibiting the work of local, national and international artists. Paintings, prints, sculptures, photographs: in Affordable Art Fair, visitors can all find a piece to start collecting with thousands of accessible artworks presented. In addition to the art fair, the public can enjoy art walks and talks, as well as artist-in-residence features. The group hosts many fairs all over the world as Affordable Art Fair Brussels, Affordable Art Fair Battersea or Affordable Art Fair Melbourne.

What is Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam DNA?
Our most recent fair saw 15,000 visitors through the doors of De Kromhouthal in trendy Amsterdam Noord to explore the stands of 70 national and international exhibitors. By the end of the weekend, over €2.9m of art had sold. The Dutch mean business when it comes to buying art! Amsterdam Noord has become a hub for street art and photography is a much-loved media in The Netherlands so these two fields are always especially well-represented in our selection.
What type of galleries are chosen to exhibit, and why?
We welcome approximately 70 national and international galleries each year and each of them are carefully selected to ensure a mix of styles, techniques and genres are represented at the fair. All artworks must be by living artists and we look for galleries who share our passion for making visitors feel welcome in the art world.
What is the price range? Who buy?
The majority of artworks at the fair are priced between 100 – 3000 euros although there are some artworks closer to the 10,000 euro price limit. We are delighted to say that there is a full spectrum of buyers at the fair, from those buying their first ever artworks to experienced collectors.

Is there a typical Affordable Art Fair Amsterdam visitor?
Our visitors are discerning, independent and view arts and culture as integral to their life. The Dutch are very direct, and they won’t shy away from telling you what they think. A city of innovation and adventure, exhibitors often remarked on how well-travelled and digitally-savvy our visitors are. Many international brands such as Nike, Booking.com and Netflix have their headquarters here.
What are two other art fairs you would suggest?
I’m also the Fair Director for Affordable Art Fair Brussels so naturally I highly recommend visiting us there in February. VOLTA Basel is another favourite spot for discovering new contemporary art talents from across the world.
