ARCOmadrid
Big sister of ARCOlisboa, ARCOmadrid is a long-running art fair that was created by Spanish oragnization IFEMA. First held in 1982, the fair has continually evolved to become an unmissable event in the capitale cultural calendar. ARCOmadrid showcases more than 200 galleries from 30 countries. Each year, it selects a special guest country and a theme is introduced to encourage fresh thinking and innovation. It displays exciting modern and contemporary artwork from across Europe and Latin America, and attracts critics, collectors, art professionals and simply curious from all over the world. In current years, the work for sale has been divided among different curated sections – a main section and a smaller one. The fair offers attendees the opportunity to discover a broad range of high-quality artworks from from a variety of generations. The media used in the wall art and sculptural pieces is wide ranging, and the event is now a place where art enthuasiasts can easily find something fresh, still undiscovered in the art market.
